The owner of Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, told CNBC on Thursday that the decision to exchange Micah Parsons was finally summed up in simple mathematics.
Jones appeared on “Closing Bell: Overrime” of CNBC to talk about the record assessment of $ 12.5 billion from Dallas Cowboys while the team launched the 2025-2026 season.
On August 28, Green Bay Packers signed Parsons to an extension of a contract of $ 186 million over four years, of which $ 136 million was guaranteed, according to Spotrac. The agreement occurred after a quarrel of several months with the cowboys on his contract and makes parsons the highest paid non-qua in the history of the NFL, according to ESPN.
“If you look at what are its figures in terms of compensation in the next five years … and then you look at these draft choices that we have obtained, and you look at what these figures could pay to other players, you will see about five of the best players as you can get in the NFL, for what you get in Micah,” Jones to Michael Ozanian on Thursday.
Jones said it was not personal, adding that he liked the 26 -year -old defender and thinks he is a great player.
“You know that our game has availability problems. In other words, if you are injured, you are not playing. Well, the chances of having more compensation, the chances of bringing more people to play on the field with each game rather than having everything on one or two, it is an opportunity for us,” said Jones. “It is right for us at the moment.”

Parsons, a grid four times, is in the last year of his recruit contract, worth around $ 24 million, according to Spotrac.
He established himself as one of the best defensive players in the League, recording more than 12 bags in each of the last four seasons.
“I’m proud for him, proud of Green Bay,” said Jones.
