Inflation rose to 4.2% under Trump. During Joe Biden’s last month in office, inflation was 2.9%. Trump is solely responsible for inflation, with most of the increase due to his war in Iran.

NPR reported:
A Labor Department report released Wednesday showed that consumer prices in May were up 4.2% from a year ago. This is the largest annual increase since April 2023. In contrast, the Labor Ministry says average wages have only increased 3.4% over the past year, meaning workers’ real purchasing power has declined.
Prices increased by 0.5% between April and May, with rising energy costs accounting for more than 60% of this monthly increase.
These are horrific numbers that would make any president scramble to find a solution, but not Donald Trump.
Instead of holding a press conference to assure the American people that he is working on the problem and that, on a more fundamental level, they understand the problem, Trump did the opposite.
Trump has attempted to downplay inflation and present the economic hardship of the American people as a good thing.
It was a callous response to a question that should have been a moment when any other president would have expressed concern and empathy.
The President was asked: “Are you concerned, Mr. President, about the latest inflation figure released this morning? Could this be harmful…”
Trump interrupted: “No, I love it.”
