A new book by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan (two authors friends of Trump) who hid all this reporting to make money from a book details the vast cover-up carried out by the Trump administration to bury the Epstein files.
The New York Times Magazine published an excerpt from the book that explains how all the top members of the administration colluded to try to distance themselves while giving Trump what he wanted, which was to bury the Epstein files.
According to the excerpt from the book:
Vice President JD Vance took his place at the head of the table in the John F. Kennedy Conference Room in the Situation Room complex. “It’s a huge problem,” he told the group. Around him were White House chief of staff Susie Wiles; White House Counsel David Warrington; press secretary, Karoline Leavitt; Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich; communications director Steven Cheung; Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche; Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward Jr.; and Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel joined via loudspeaker.
…
But there was a major obstacle in the way of a solution: the president himself still had no interest in transparency. He wanted the whole Epstein issue buried, and he attacked anyone who talked about it. His colleagues largely avoided the subject in their conversations with him, forced to worry among themselves.
House Democrats responded to the details of the story by clarifying that if they received a majority, Trump’s cover-up would be investigated.
