United Airlines On -board agents voted A new employment contract which called for immediate increases of at least 26% and other improvements in the quality of life, their union announced on Tuesday.
The latest increase in on-board agents took place in 2020. Their union, the association of CWA on-board agents, which represents the 28,000 members of the airline crew, and the airline had a line agreement in May.
“United Sounded on -board agents voted today to send a strong message to United Airlines Management by rejecting a provisional agreement which did not go far enough to approach the years of sacrifice and hard work to make the airline the success he is today,” said Ken Diaz, president of the United States section.
He said the union would question members about the main improvements they wish in another contract.
Of the 92% of eligible voters who voted, 71% voted against the contract, the union said.
American on -board agents have pressure for salary increases for years. On-board agents in other airlines, pilots and other working groups have obtained new work agreements following the COVVI-19 pandemic.
The United Sounded agents voted last year to authorize the union to conclude if an agreement was not concluded. They also asked for federal mediation for labor talks.
The airline said in a statement that she would continue to work with the union.
“Our on -board agents are the best in the industry and this tent agreement included many improvements and wages of the statement of industry,” said United in a statement. “Although this vote leads to delay and the AFA has described several stages to return to negotiations, including coordination with the National Mediation Board, we remain focused on obtaining our agents the contract they deserve.”
