Bangkok – The death toll of the Massive Turning Trembreation of Myanmar reached 1,000 people on Saturday, said the country’s junta, while international aid was starting to flow into the war torn by the war.
The rescuers chased survivors, especially these hundreds of kilometers from the epicenter of the earthquake in the Thai capital, Bangkok, where a height collapsed, buried dozens of construction workers.
Myanmar Junta’s news team reported 1,002 deaths, against 144 deaths reported on Friday in the early hours after the earthquake, and more than 2,000 injured.
The United States and Russia have offered help, Moscow sending 120 rescuers and doctors, according to TASS news agency. Malaysia said it would send 50 people on Sunday to provide help to the most affected areas. A Chinese rescue team arrived on Saturday, Xinhua News reported.
The 7.7 magnitude earthquake was centered near the second largest mandalay in the city of Myanmar. Shan State, Sagaing, Bago, Magway and Naycyidaw also underwent major damage, which prompted the junta to declare a state of emergency in the affected regions.
In Pyinmana, a city just east of the capital of Myanmar, 40 bodies were found in collapsed buildings, residents said in FRG, and more than 130 injured people were sent to neighboring hospitals.
A rescue worker said that there were still many people trapped under the rubble of the collapsed buildings in the city.
“The whole area is destroyed, and we are working tirelessly on rescue operations. We just sent a body to the morgue and are now continuing research,” he said. “Unfortunately, we cannot help in other areas. Even in Pyinmana, our efforts are hampered, and we cannot go further.”
The disaster raised concerns about how aid would reach the victims in Myanmar, which was involved in a civil war since the soldiers overthrew a civil government during a coup in 2021. The fighting led more than 3 million people from their homes.
“This earthquake could not arrive at a worst time for Myanmar,” said Amnesty International’s myanmar researcher Joe Freeman. “More than a third of the population will need humanitarian aid this year.
“In a country where soldiers have banned many media and internet access is restricted, we may not have a clear image of the extent of damage and losses for a while,” he said.

In Bangkok on Saturday, 1000 kilometers (620 miles) of the Epicenter of the earthquake, the rescuers continued to hunt for the construction workers trapped when a 33 -storey government building collapsed. Nine people are confirmed dead and 79 disappeared, according to information from the rescue teams on the premises.
Retrocavens picked up at the giant mound of gray construction debris next to the famous Chatuchak market while the police changed the journalists and passers -by of the site.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said a disaster area “so that relevant government agencies, local administrative organizations and the private sector can exercise their functions in the area assigned to disasters.”
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra sought to reassure residents on Friday evening, saying he was sure to return home.
