The clashes between the police and the demonstrators intensified in Bangladesh on Friday, the second day of a “full closure” declared by the students demanding the end of a job quota system.
A Benarnews journalist saw border guards shooting three young people near his residence while the demonstrators vandalized a nearby government office and burned his furniture in the street.
Benarnews confirmed 63 deaths on Friday and “thousands” of injured people, after contacting hospitals in the Dacca region. 32 other people died in street clashes earlier in the week.
The authorities suspended the Metro Rail Service and prohibited all the rallies and motorcycle trips to Dacca on Friday while they were fighting to regain control of the city.
Internet has been completely closed in Bangladesh since Thursday, and mobile communications are extremely slow.
The students began to protest in early July to request the reform of a quota for government jobs promoting the families of the veterans of the war for the independence of veterans in Bangladesh.
The demonstrations increased after the denigrated comments of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday, with pro-government groups, the police and demonstrators who are fighting in the streets.
