Dozens of Democrats from Texas will leave the State to refuse the Republicans a quorum necessary in the room to vote on the Gerrymandered card in mid-December which is an original idea of Donald Trump.
Politico reported:
Dozens of Texas Democrats plan to flee the state in the midst of a special session on Sunday afternoon, making a last effort to disrupt an attempt to redistiff for MI-Decennia by President Donald Trump, according to two informed people.
…
“Breaking Quorum is an extreme step. This should be a last resort,” said state representative James Talarico in Politico in an interview last Tuesday. He was one of the 50 Democratic legislators who fled the State in 2021 for an electoral bill. The Democrats would head towards Illinois, a blue state with a governor who accused the Republicans of Texas of having cheated while trying to redress the elections in 2026.
We expect that we expect to diminish in Illinois on Sunday, triggering an impasse with Abbott in the battle of reducing with high issues.
Leaving the state is not a step that is lightly. There is the potential of fines and arrests for members of the fleeting state legislature. Governor Pritzker in Illinois will protect the Democrats from everything Greg Abbott and his party could try to do.
