A Washington DC press corps that makes its living suckling at Donald Trump’s breast was going to be completely clueless and traumatized as to why anyone would try to harm the elites in the six or seven figure party bubbles for a contrived event they are using to get closer to power while broadcasting all of this on television while Americans can’t afford groceries, health care, gas, and many are unemployed.

Anyone who would take or even consider violent action likely has serious mental health issues, as such behavior is never an answer, but instead of looking in the mirror and asking themselves if they are responsible for platforming, normalizing, and profiting from Trump’s madness, some in the Washington DC press have decided that the problem is political rhetoric and that Democrats are as much responsible as Trump for the culture of division and extemism that currently exists in the country.

On CNN’s State of the Union, Dana Bash interviewed Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD).

Raskin explained that he went to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner because he supported the First Amendment:

I was so happy that President Trump chose this path because he called the press the enemy of the people. There have been so many attacks on journalists that there have been lawsuits against media entities, and so there has been this terrible attack on the First Amendment. Freedom of press and expression.

I thought last night would be a wonderful opportunity to try to reclaim the country’s fundamental values.

Bash then tried to blame Raskin and the Democrats for using inflammatory rhetoric against Trump: “And you, along with many of your fellow Democrats, have used inflammatory rhetoric against the president, and do you think twice when something like this happens?

It was at this point that Raskin responded strongly.
