There are two schools of thought on whether Democrats should attend Trump’s State of the Union. On one side are Democrats who don’t want any of their members present and being what they consider props in Trump’s audience.

The flip side of this argument is that people go to the speech to protest the president, or invite guests like Epstein survivors and people who have been harmed by ICE to raise awareness and draw attention to Trump’s policies.
There is no right or wrong answer.

I’ve already been to the state of Trump’s unions and I really don’t need to go there again. He uses his speeches to pillory his political enemies and spread lies – not to mention they are long and boring.
Trump’s SOTUs are long, winding, and pretty boring for Democrats. For some of them, it’s a wasted evening.
Democrats who attend will use the platform to highlight important issues.
