Two flea manufacturers combine.

Yum brands is a partnership with the technology giant Nvidia To accelerate the use of artificial intelligence in its restaurants.

The catering company, which owns Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, said Tuesday that collaboration will allow Yum to deploy an AI order, a computer vision powered by Nvidia and performance assessments of the restaurant powered by AI.

While technology giants are participating in an AI arms race, catering companies have also used technology to stay ahead of competitors by improving their operations and saving money on work. The fast food chains tested the AI to take steering wheel orders, check the accuracy of the orders, decide how to effectively plan workers and place supply orders.

Many restaurant channels in addition to Yum have requested partnerships with technology giants. McDonald’s associated with Google Cloud and Wendy The supply chain cooperative has teamed up with PalantantAmong other agreements. But all the partnerships have not succeeded. McDonald’s put an end to his collaboration with IBM on Voice AI in June, although the Burger giant said that IBM remained a “trusted partner”.

The partnership is the first of Nvidia with a catering company. It also marks a change in strategy for Yum, which used a series of acquisitions to develop its internal technological operations, now hosted under its byte platform. Yum will be the owner of the intelligence of the partnership, allowing the company to personalize it if necessary, such as integrating more advanced AI models.

Yum has already controlled Nvidia technology in certain Pizza Hut and Taco Bell locations. A wider deployment of technology should strike more than 500 restaurants through the Yum portfolio during the second quarter.

The terms of the NVIDIA partnership have not been disclosed, but Yum said it was “subject to mutually pleasant definitive agreements”.

Nvidia’s shares have climbed 35% in the past year, while Yum shares increased 14% during the same period. Investors have largely remained optimistic about AI, although Nvidia’s actions have lost concerns about competition and the wider economy.

The Nvidia market capitalization of 2.9 billions of dwarf dollars of Yum, which has a market capitalization of $ 43.8 billion.
