The best Democrats demand an investigation into the secret agreement of Dejoy with Musk to register USPS

The Democrats of the Chamber who oversee the USP are concerned that the Trump administration manifests itself to bypass the law and interrupt the united postal service.

In a letter To the president of the house surveillance committee, James Comer (R-KY), twenty Democrats in the Chamber led by the classification member of the supervisory committee Gerry Connolly (D-VA) wrote:

We write to ask you to summon an immediate hearing on the Trump administration plans for the United States postal service (USPS). From the most recent hearing of the USPS Committee, the Trump administration would have explored the privatization of USPs, dismissed the Bipartisan postal council of governors, merging the USPS in the Ministry of Commerce and now submits the USPS musk, the American federal efficiency (DOGE). This large assault against the independence of the USPS requires monitoring of the congress, in particular on the part of the Jurisdiction Committee on the USPS.

On December 14, 2024, the Washington Post reported that President Trump was considering actions to privatize the USPS and pushed thousands of federal employees of their work in favor of large privatization of the agency’s essential services. Two months later, additional reports noted that President Trump was preparing plans to dismiss the Bipartisan Postal Governors Council and “merge” postal service to the Commerce Department, “potentially throwing the 250 -year -old messaging provider and billions of dollars in electronic commerce in the brutal”.

On March 13, 2025, you received a letter from the post owner, Louis Dejoy, recognizing an agreement he signed with “Doge representatives” and the General Services Administration to help the USPS “identify and carry out new efficiency gains”. This agreement apparently includes plans for an “additional reduction of 10,000 other people in the next 30 days” and a “reduction in air transport, land transport, manipulation of the terminal. Installations “through” Operating contract and cancellation contract endings “. These are, of course, the main means by which critical mail services such as medicines, invoices, ballot, packages and letters are delivered across the country to serve the public.

The agreement also points out the interest of the general post office to eliminate the postal regulatory committee authorized by the congress, to allow rates, regulations and other actions to promote certain industries, individuals and regions to the detriment of operational needs and the universal network service obligation. This background room agreement between the DOGE and the post master led by the billionaires trigger alarms on the plans of this administration for the role of postal service as a stony public institution.

The postal service facilitates the delivery of more than 115 billion letters each year, a large part of which is delivered to rural areas, low -income and difficult to reach which would not receive a service otherwise if it is not for the universal service obligation, which has received bipartite support in the congress and is integrated into the postal service mission.

Democrats are looking for an immediate audience and copies of all the agreements that Dejoy signed with Doge and Musk.

You don’t need a rocket specialist or a rich guy who finances rockets that tend to explode to understand what’s going on. Trump and Musk try to empty the postal service with a back-shop that bypass the law and surveillance.

Changes to the USPS can only be made by the congress, not by the president or his billionaire funder who bought his way to the White House.

Since Trump and his billionaire oligarchs prefer to operate in secret, it is up to the members of the Congress to alert the public to what is happening because the public pressure has been effective in making Trump is backing up.
