The North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and the Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to deepen the collaboration of their country, said the North Korean state media on Wednesday, while Putin praised “bravery, heroism and self-socity spirit” of the North Korean troops who fought with the Russian army against Ukraine Kursk.
On Tuesday, during a telephone call with the Russian president, Kim said that North Korea “would fully support all the measures to be taken by Russian management in the future also”.
According to the TASS news agency in Russia, Putin shared information on his next meeting with KIM with US President Donald Trump in Alaska on Friday. Trump should put pressure on Russia to end war with Ukraine.
North Korea has sent around 15,000 soldiers to Russia since last fall, according to South Korean deadlines – and it also provided equipment, including artillery and ballistic missiles to support the operation against Ukraine.
Pyongyang recognized its role in the Ukrainian conflict at the end of April, about six months after the first reports on the presence of their troops.
Ukrainian officials have published handwritten letters and combat instructions that are supposed to come from North Korean soldiers killed in combat. Ukraine has also disseminated messages in Korean appealing to North Korean soldiers to go.
