While Donald Trump looks weakly unhappy while Iran and Israel wage war, a republican senator had a surprising story that he shared with the American people, but not in the way he wanted.
Video:
Hawley wanted him as a defense of Trump when he said to Manu Raju de CNN:
I crossed him with him and he said, oh, wow, it’s very surprising. He said, I am surprised that they have brought all these changes to the degree they made. I said, I am too. It was really clear to the Senate Republicans just two weeks ago. Do not touch anything else on Medicaid. Take the house frame, change it if you need it, but do nothing else.
And this framework of the Senate really, it deviates from its framework a lot.
Hawley, who opposes the Medicaid cuts, was trying to use the story to reflect the idea that the Senate brought about changes that Trump did not want, but the story also depicts an image of a president who does not guide the ship and does not seem to have any idea of what is happening with what is supposed to be his signature.
