Since the Republicans took control of the federal government, they have been playing sleight of hand with the American people. There has been a lack of oversight of the Trump administration from the Republican majority in the House, and even when Republicans appear to be exercising oversight, things are not always what they seem.

Donald Trump bragged about controlling the House majority and being the real Speaker of the House, and the president tried to bury the Epstein investigation almost as soon as he returned to the White House.

Republican support for the bipartisan legislation that became law requiring the DOJ to fully disclose the Epstein files was always a ruse.

The House Oversight Committee, chaired by Rep. James Comer (R-KY), also claimed to be investigating the Epstein scandal. Although Democratic and Republican members of the committee are attempting to conduct a serious investigation, Chairman Comer has taken steps to ensure that they cannot.

Bipartisan committee members trying to achieve justice for Epstein survivors have won a series of victories in committee meetings and hearings, but Rep. Comer has taken steps to prevent it from happening again.
