Adelita Grijalva will finally be sworn in to the House of Representatives on Wednesday, meaning the petition to discharge the Epstein records will reach the necessary threshold of 218 signatures to force a House vote on legislation requiring the DOJ to release the records.
In the hours leading up to this critical moment, House Democrats released several damning emails from Epstein linking Trump to the sex trafficker, and House Republicans on the Oversight Committee prepared another Epstein document approved by Trump.
None of these maneuvers are a coincidence.
Democrats are trying to demonstrate why it is urgent that the files be made public. The Republicans are sending the message that there is no need to file for release because they are releasing the documents themselves.
Donald Trump has been working with President Mike Johnson behind the scenes for months on a cover-up of the Epstein files. Trump is deeply involved in attempts to block and stop the release of the files.
The White House absolutely does not want the vote on the discharge petition to take place in the House.
Why they are so afraid of this vote remains a mystery, because even if the House votes to compel the release of the records, the bill would still have to go to and be approved by the Senate.
The House vote alone does not release the records.
Trump is so afraid of the release request that he personally tries to stop it.
