Striking Boeing Missouri’s defense workers voted on Friday against the last offer of the company of a contract of a modified contract, according to the union representing workers.

More than 3,000 workers in the St. Louis region will remain on strike, the first ranging in almost three decades.

“Boeing’s modified offer did not include a sufficient signature bonus compared to what other Boeing workers received, nor an increase in benefits 401 (K)”, indicate a declaration of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. “Democratic vote highlights the determination of around 3,200 members of the IAM Union to continue their position together until their voice is heard.”

The union said that he had concluded a five -year provisional agreement with Boeing on Wednesday, with better salary and a signature bonus, and made a vote on Friday agreement.

The agreement that workers rejected included an average wage growth of 45%, among others. The local chapter of the Union, IAM 837, said that it would be the average salary of $ 75,000 to $ 109,000.

“Our members of Saint-Louis have once again shown that they will not be satisfied with the half-measures of Boeing,” said international president of IAM, Brian Bryant, in a statement. “Boeing must start listening to its employees and returning to the table with a significant offer that respects the sacrifices and skills of these workers.”

Boeing said he hired more workers to replace those who are on strike to meet growing demand.

Vice-president of Boeing Air Dominance Dan Gillian said in a statement that no other talks are planned between Boeing and workers on strike, and that the company is “disappointed”.

“We have clearly indicated that the overall economic framework of our offer will not change, but we have always adjusted the offer according to the comments of employees and unions to better respond to their concerns,” said Gillian. “We will continue to execute our emergency plan, including hiring permanent replacement workers because we maintain support for our customers.”

The strike workers meet mainly and maintain F-15 fighter jets and missile systems, according to the union. Employees strike at the beginning of August and refused a previous offer, which included general wage increases by 20% and a signing bonus of $ 5,000, among other improvements.
