House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) recently signaled that his caucus is poised to take action to expel Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Jeffries said, “We’ve managed to run some of his cabinet secretaries out of town. I believe Pete Hegseth is next, and we’re going to keep our foot on the gas pedal to push this guy out.”
House Democrats put their foot on the gas by filing articles of impeachment against Hegseth.
House Democrats filed articles of indictment against Hegseth for serious crimes and misdemeanors which include:
-
Violations of the law of armed conflict and targeting of civilians, including an illegal strike aimed at killing survivors of a first attack on a ship in the Caribbean Sea and the operations resulting in significant civilian casualties in Iran which violate the Geneva Conventions;
-
Abuse of power and politicization of the armed forces, including authorization of targeted investigations against elected officials like Captain Mark Kelly for exercising their First Amendment rights;
Any item on the list would be enough for impeachment, but the entire list looks like a high crime wave.
