Disney ESPN and Fox Corp. Complete themselves to offer their next streaming services directly to consumers as a bundle, companies announced on Monday.
This decision comes as media companies are looking for more consumers for their streaming alternatives and attract them in particular.
Last week, the two companies announced additional details on new streaming options. The ESPN streaming service – which has the same name as the television network – and Fox One of Fox from Fox on August 21, before the seasons of university football and NFL.
Group applications will however be available from October 2 for $ 39.99 per month. In addition, ESPN and Fox One will cost $ 29.99 and $ 19.99 per month respectively.
Although the bundle will offer sports fans a larger offer at a reduced rate, streaming services are not exactly the same.
The ESPN flagship service will be an all-in-one application that includes all its live sports and programs from its television networks, including ESPN2 and SEC Network, as well as ESPN on ABC belonging to Disney. The application will also have fantastic products, new Paris links, studio programs and documentaries.
ESPN will also offer its application as a bundle with other Disney, Disney + and Hulu streaming services, for $ 35.99 per month. This Disney bundle will cost $ 29.99 at a reduced price per month for the first 12 months – the same price as the autonomous application.
Last week, ESPN further strengthened the content of its streaming application when it signed an agreement with WWE for American rights on the biggest live events in the wrestling league, in particular Wrestlemania, the Royal Rumble and Summerslam, from 2026. The giant of sports media also concluded an agreement with the NFL which will see the NFL network League.
The Fox One service, however, will be a little different. Fox had been on the sidelines of direct streaming to consumers for years after its competitors launched their platforms. This year, he said he would offer all its content – including news and entertainment – of his paying and television networks in a streaming offer. Fox One will have no exclusive or original content.
Fox’s move in the Direct Streaming Game to Consumers – apart from its Fox Nation application and Streamer Free and supported by advertising, intervened after abandoning its efforts to launch Venu, a joint sports streaming company with Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Fox CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, and Disney CEO Bob Iger said in distinct results calls last week that they explored grouping options with other services. Since Fox announced the Fox One application, Murdoch said that the company would be based on packages with other streaming services.
“Announcement ESPN as our first Bundle partner is proof of our desire to provide the best possible value and experience of visualization to our common customers,” said Tony Billetter, Vice-President Director of Strategy and Commercial Development of the Direct Segment to Fox Consumers, in a statement on Monday.
