With the Senate about to resume Trump's tax discounts for the rich and without food or health for the millions of people, the head of the Senate minority, Chuck Schumer (D-NY), published a dear colleague letter where he has sworn that the Democrats of the Senate would fight the bill he wrote to reduce the costs for billionaires while increasing the costs of families arrangement.
Schumer also announced that the Democrats of the Chamber and the Senate gathered on a unified strategy to combat the bill.
Senator Schumer wrote:
In the Senate, our committees worked overtime to prepare for the BYRD bath, targeting the litany of policies included in the republican plan which clearly violated the rules of reconciliation and, in some cases, an aggression against our democracy. For example, the Republicans of the Chamber have sneaky in a sneaky policy to restrict the authority of the federal courts to hold government representatives when they violate the judicial orders. The bare submission of the Republican to a president without law is seriously dangerous and the Democrats of the Senate do not support him. If the Senate republicans include this rotten provision, I provide, alongside all of you, to fight against teeth and nails to carry out this authoritarian attack against our justice system.
