The Democrats of the Chamber investigate Elon Musk for the conflicts of interests of NASA

Elon Musk says Doge ends until its end, but that will not prevent Democrats from investigating the billionaire and his numerous conflicts of interest, in particular involving NASA.

The representatives Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Maxwell Frost wrote to the Advocate General of NASA:

We write with important concerns concerning conflicts of clear interests of Elon Musk at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In an unprecedented arrangement, President Donald Trump gave a vast illegal authority to Mr. Musk, an unadumped billionaire. Musk redirect billions of dollars from taxpayers to finance his own financial interests while reducing federal employees, programs and services on which all Americans depend. Mr. Musk also remains in charge of a sprawling empire in private sector affairs which continues to count on billions of dollars in government funding and has been responsible for managing its own conflicts of interest.

The Trump administration has failed to make Mr. Musk’s financial disclosure deposits public, hiding the real extent of his public conflicts. We require documents and information to highlight these conflicts, as well as immediate action to fight against this corrupt arrangement which threatens responsible democratic governance. In February 2025, Mr. Musk and his companies received a full total of at least $ 38 billion in contracts, loans, subsidies and federal government tax credits. In fact, Mr. Musk’s companies were more dependent on public funds than many competitors.

The companies of Mr. Musk, which cover various industries, including the transport, health, telecommunications and defense sectors, are also subject to the regulatory jurisdiction of many federal agencies, including the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Transport, and several of its companies are currently under federal survey for security, labor or other serious violations. Mr. Musk continues to take advantage of the taxpayers’ dollars and is now in charge of determining which federal contracts that the government will maintain and which will be reduced – an arrangement that is the law.

…

At NASA, where Mr. Musk has both benefited from important contracts and has the potential to receive large quantities of new cases, his contempt for challenges and the control of operations benefits his businesses directly. The conflicts of known interests presented by this arrangement … are illegal and must be treated immediately.

Musk seems to have two goals in the federal government. First, he seems to want to try to make all the investigations disappear on his businesses while getting a descent into the Treasury to direct government funding for himself and his businesses.

What Musk is doing is illegal, and democratic investigations are a taste of what will happen if the Democratic Party looks at the majority of the room.

What do you think of the Musk survey? Share your reflections in the comments below.
