Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was on Trump’s game For years, and his response to Trump’s speech at the Congress underlined the gadget that Trump uses to distract the American people of the billionaire agenda and their plan to reduce social security and Medicaid.

Sanders said during his answer:
This evening, Trump said that millions of deaths aged 100 and 360, I suppose, we collect social security checks.
And it is a scandalous lie intended to lay the basics of social security reductions and to dismantle the most successful and popular government program in history. So let’s be clear about it. More than 99% of social security checks came out to people who won these checks. 70 million Americans, a person, who was 150 or 200 years old or 300 years old receives social security checks and and on lies.
Now the purpose of all this lie is not only to push your hateful right ideology. It is not only to try to divide us. It’s more than that. It is a masterful effort and you saw this evening to divert attention. The most important problems facing the inhabitants of our country. Problems that Trump and his billionaire friends do not want to solve because it is not in their financial interest to do so.
Video:
Trump delivered his speech on the state of the union tonight, but if you listen carefully, this speech did not have much to say. On the state of the Union, on what is really happening in our country, especially for workers’ families. Trump spoke for more than 90 minutes, even if I must admit that it seemed much longer than that, and he almost completely ignored the problems that keep workers at night when they are worried about how their families will survive in these very difficult times.
And I’m going to tell you exactly why Trump had very little to say about the real crises faced by the working class of this country. Think about six weeks ago when Trump was inaugurated for his second term as president, barely six weeks ago. Standing behind him were the three richest men in this country, Mr. Musk, Mr. Bezos and Mr. Zuckerberg.
And holding behind them 13 other billionaires that Trump had appointed the main government agencies, many of the same billionaires, including Musk, were at the Capitol this evening by listening to this speech. In other words, he’s there for everyone. The Trump administration does not hide it.
The Trump administration is a billionaire class government by the billionaire class. And for the billionaire class, despite part of their rhetoric, it is a government that could worry less about ordinary Americans and families of workers in our country. My friends, we no longer head to the oligarchy.
We live in an oligarchic society.
Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-Mi) delivered a democratic response This has been designed to talk to moderate Americans and, frankly, to people who vote for Trump who have remorse buyers on the economy, prices, Ukraine and other questions that more and more Americans reject Trump’s position. Slotkin’s response should be considered a call to all swing states and districts that regret supporting Trump because, unlike people who follow the news closely, many Americans are just starting to see what Trump does.
Bernie Sanders’ response has targeted a different audience. Sanders called on progressives and activists, delivering a basic message to reach workers. The two messages are effective and both are necessary to defeat Trump.
Senator Sanders does important job to organize people for this fight.
The left is the most successful when it is unified towards a common objective, and Trump gathered all the parts of the left on a mission to stop it and save the country.
