The Trump administration is failing, and since it has no interest in admitting that it was wrong on many issues, and has no interest in governing, it has decided to demonize its opponents.
On Thursday, as the administration refuses to negotiate to end the government shutdown, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Fox News that Democrats’ “core constituency is Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens and violent criminals. That’s who the Democratic Party is addressing. Neither the Trump administration, nor the White House, nor the Republican Party, which stands up for law-abiding Americans, not just across the country but around the world.

Leavitt’s comments came ahead of the nationwide No Kings protest that is expected to see millions of Americans take to the streets at thousands of events. His comments also followed the Young Republicans discussion scandal in which Republican members of the organization proclaimed their love for Hitler. By the way, the Young Republicans in this conversation were not children. They were men in their thirties. Anyone under the age of 40 is considered a Young Republican.
We have now reached the point in the Trump administration’s attempt at authoritarianism for dummies, where they are demonizing the opposition.
This time, the opposition is fighting back.
During his now-daily briefing on the government shutdown, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) didn’t shy away from talking about Leavitt.
