In an interesting turn of events, the republican budgetary resolution of the Chamber is in difficulty because of Medicaid, and not for the reason you might think. The problem is that a dozen republicans in the room do not want to support the deep cuts of the program in the budget of the Johnson speaker.

Politico reported:

President Mike Johnson looks at at least a dozen republican retained on the budgetary plan he wants to put on the house of the house in the coming days – and he cannot afford to lose a member and always approve the resolution Long festive lines.

Johnson and his Whip team use the current recess of a week to accelerate the commitment with the indecisive Republicans, including seven members – if not more – who have raised serious concerns concerning the deep cups in Medicaid in the budget resolution of the GOP of the Bedroom.

….

Vulnerable holders distrust to reduce Medicaid services include representatives. David Valadao de California, Nicole Maliotakis from New York, Don Bacon du Nebraska, Rob Bresnahan de Pennsylvania and other red districts. They were generally blinded by the deeper level of the proposed cuts, said a republican, because this possibility was never presented in previous discussions with the leaders of the GOP.

The problem for Republicans is that without steep Medicaid reductions, they cannot find the money to pay Trump’s tax reductions for the rich.

The republicans of the room know that voting for the Medicaid cuts in swing districts equal to kissing their seats in 2026.

This is where the democratic refusal of the room to help the Republicans to everything that would help Trump reduce taxes for the rich is useful.

Republicans must adopt their budgetary resolution by themselves because the Democrats refused to help them.

Vulnerable Room Republicans will not give up their headquarters to appease a long lame tube president.

Mike Johnson’s budget seems dead in water, which will give Democrats even more power to stop the Trump agenda and save Medicaid.

What do you think of the idea that this might be republicans of the house saving Medicaid? Share your reflections in the comments below.
