The shameful Trump humiliates himself by celebrating the death of Robert Mueller

Presidents set the culture and tone of the nation, whether they like it or not. Presidential behavioral trends will find their way into American society. It is clear that Trump’s rudeness, coldness and incivility have made their way into certain segments of American culture.

Under an unwritten rule, presidents do not celebrate the deaths of important people.

Former FBI Director and Special Advisor Robert Mueller was a transformative person. As FBI director, Mueller reorganized the bureau to focus more on preventing terrorism after 9/11.

The AP note in his report on Mueller’s death:

At the FBI, Mueller almost immediately set about overhauling the bureau’s mission to meet 21st-century law enforcement needs, beginning his 12-year tenure just a week before the September 11 attacks and serving in multiple chair positions in both political parties. He was appointed by Republican President George W. Bush.

The cataclysmic event instantly shifted the Office’s top priority from National Crime Resolution to preventing terrorism, a shift that imposed an almost impossibly difficult standard on Mueller and the rest of the federal government: preventing 99 out of 100 terrorist plots was not enough.

As special counsel, Mueller oversaw what amounted to a major report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election to help the Trump campaign achieve victory.

Trump has never been able to make his problem with Russia go away, although he keeps trying until today, Russia remains a dark cloud constantly hovering over his head.

Trump hates Mueller and reacted to the former special counsel’s death in the most unpresidential and inhumane way imaginable by posting on his social media account: “Robert Mueller just died. Well, I’m glad he’s dead. He can’t hurt innocent people anymore! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Mueller didn’t hurt any innocent people, but he left a lingering stain on a convicted criminal, the current president.
