Trump has been trying to seize Venezuelan oil for years.
The United States does not have its own oil resources. There is no American oil company. This oil does not come to the United States. This oil does not belong to the United States. The United States will not benefit from this oil. What Trump wants from the remaining Venezuelan vice president is to hand over control of the country’s oil production to big oil companies. This means that big oil companies will make all the profits. The big oil companies will sell the oil overseas, sell it around the world, and the American people will fall for it.

Trump is doing this, of course, because of big oil. He wrote him mega checks during the campaign in the form of dark money contributions.
As his campaign struggled, big oil companies gave Trump a list of one hundred to 200 pieces of legislation already drafted into executive orders. They listed their demands in exchange for the money. Trump said: I will do what you want. What they wanted was control of Venezuela’s oil. From now on, American troops in Venezuela will have to be there to secure the oil.
