It didn’t take long for Republicans to begin lining up House must force a vote to extend Obamacare’s enhanced subsidies for two years.

One of the first House Republicans to line up to sign the discharge petition was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who posted on X:
This evening, I signed two discharge petitions: Rep. Fitzpatrick’s health care petition and Rep. Luna’s stock trading petition. Right now, I plan to sign every discharge petition – whether I support the bill or not. As a duly elected member of Congress, I believe my colleagues should have the opportunity to bring a bill to a vote. Every Member of Parliament deserves the right to represent their district and receive a recorded vote on their bills. This is the result of House leadership preventing MPs from governing.
Greene is certainly in favor of extending the subsidies, but her message makes it very clear that her signature on the discharge petitions is also an act of rebellion against Johnson and Trump, as they have strangled the House and prevented the legislation from coming to a vote.
For the other Republicans in the House, who will not leave Congress after the holidays, it is simply an extension of the subsidies.
Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News also posted on X:
A series of lawmakers are currently signing Fitzpatricks’ release. Golden. Lawler. Suozzi.
Where things start to get interesting is what Democratic House Representative Hakeem Jeffries said when asked about the petition.
