
Trump and Senate Majority Leader John Thune are conspiring to try to defeat the bill to force the release of the Epstein files in the Senate after it passes the House, likely with overwhelming support.
Democrats in the Senate do not have a discharge petition tool to force a vote on legislation, and the plan concocted by Mike Johnson and John Thune appears to be for the House to pass the bill and Thune to bury it in the Senate.

President Johnson declared while speaking to reporters Tuesday morning:
So what should I do as a leader in a situation like this? I called my counterpart in the Senate, Leader Thune, and talked to him about all of this and expressed our deep concerns.
And of course, they also share these concerns. So I have every confidence that as the process moves forward, if and when the Senate deals with it, which is not certain, they will take the time to methodically do what we have not been allowed to do in the House to amend this discharge petition and to make sure that these protections exist.
Republicans are running out of time to kill this legislation.
Senate Democrats won’t play along.
