Well, Republicans in Congress are feeling pressure to act.
Donald Trump continues to ignore his shutdown.
The difference in perspective between Trump and vulnerable Republican members of Congress has widened a divide, and as the closing hours continue to pass, Republicans are growing increasingly nervous and are beginning to talk with Democrats about a deal to extend Obamacare subsidies.
There is the idea of a discharge petition which is being negotiated if President Mike Johnson continues to be Trump’s personal flying monkey and blocks any House vote on extending Obamacare subsidies.
There are also other projects under discussion that show how little what Trump wants matters in a Washington that is already beginning to view him as a lame duck and preparing for a future without him.
In fact, Republicans are blaming Trump for the shutdown and are looking for a way out.
