The Hyundai raid could raise concerns for South Korean companies that send Korean staff to the United States and hires locally for their factories, said Hur Jung, president of the Korean Association of Trade and Industry Studies.
If such repressions are repeated, it “would damage confidence and would harm industrial cooperation between the United States and South Korea in various industries, with negative repercussions for local communities,” said Hur, who is also a professor of economics at Sogang University.
