The truth and President Mike Johnson are not often seen together, so it was surprising when Johnson admitted a political reality on Sunday.

Johnson was questioned by Jon Karl of ABC about Elon Musk spending money to beat the Republicans and he replied:
Well, I think it would be a big mistake. I think that Elon knows that, in the end, the reason he got involved to help President Trump to win and to help the Republicans win the majority in the House and that the Senate is because he understands that our policies are better for human development, they are better for the American economy, they are better for everything that is involved with his innovation and his job creation and his entrepreneur.
The other team's policies are not good for these things. And – and he knows it at the end of the day. And I think that when the emotion settles, I think it will recognize that we have no choice. We have to keep the majority of the house in the mid-term elections of 2026, and we will because we have to allow President Trump full years, not just two.
