Bernie Sanders tears the republican silence while Trump illegally deploys the National Guard in California

The reason why so many Americans have turned to Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) since Trump returned to the post is that Senator Sanders has his finger on the pulse of Trump's ambitions and what's going on in the country. Sanders has warned against the rise of the oligarchy, inequalities and anti-democracy in the United States for decades.

Video:

When Sanders was asked about Trump illegally deploying the National Guard in California on the state of the Union of CNN, he replied:

We have a president who quickly moves this country in authoritarianism. He continues the media that criticizes him. He goes after law firms who have clients against him. He goes after the universities that teach the courses he does not like. He threatens to dismiss judges who govern against him, and he usurps the powers of the American Congress.

This guy wants all the power. He does not believe in the Constitution. He does not believe in the rule of law. I understand that the governor of California, the mayor of the city of Los Angeles did not ask for the National Guard, but he thinks that he has the right to do whatever he wants. And I would say that to a large extent, the future of this country rests with a small number of Republicans in the Chamber and the Senate who know better, who know what it is, and it is high time that they got up.

For our constitution and the rule of law, we have just celebrated a few days ago, on June 6, American landing in Normandy, which began the invasion of Europe to overcome fascism and Nazism. These guys died. They abandoned their lives to defend democracy, not to have an all-powerful sovereign in the United States of America.

Senator Sanders was right. People who could stop all of this are a handful of Republicans in the House and Senate, and their silence has been revealed.

What these Republicans do not understand is that If Trump can illegally deploy the National Guard in CaliforniaHe can also do it in their states and their districts.

The fear of Trump congress is stronger than their desire to protect democracy. A handful of voters in a few swing states have made the mistake of putting Trump back in power, but it is the republican members of the congress who improve the power of Trump by turning and refusing to control it.
