Democratic warnings work while Qatar blame Trump for a bridge pot

Congress Democrats have warned the Qatar nation since it has been announced that Trump would accept an airplane of their hundreds of millions of dollars, that Trump would be equivalent to a bridge pot in the future.

These warnings seem to work, as The Washington Post reported::

Qatar insists on the fact that a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Doha specifies that the transfer of the plane was launched by the Trump administration and that Qatar is not responsible for future transfers of the property, said these people.

The delay reflects persistent concerns about legal responsibility from the White House maneuver to transform what was originally a sale between two countries into a “gift” that Trump continues to consider as a major deliverable from his recent trip to the Middle East.

Trump wants the plane to be a gift because it belongs to him and not the United States of America. If the plane is sold in the United States, it cannot become the property of Trump once it has left its duties.

A sale would mean that the plane is a public property.

Qatar seeks to change the context of corruption in something that looks more like blackmail.

If Trump asked for the plane, Qatar can claim that they did not try to bring Trump, but Trump rocked them. Qatar comes from the victim of the victim.

Being the victim would mean that Democrats will send all the consequences on Trump and not on them.

Democrats have already put heat on Qatar and have called for an independent investigation into the airplane transaction.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) asked Qatar to cancel the plane offer and warned consequences for the future American / Qatar relationship:

I hope Qatar cancels this offer. I hope that after Trump left the city of Qatar who decides, they want a long-term relationship with the United States. They don't want a relationship with Donald Trump. And let me guarantee you, even if there are important alliances that we have with the Saudi, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, these alliances will be permanently effiled if they continue to reimburse Donald Trump. I think that for long-term relations with the United States, these countries should think twice before it is too late to give Trump what he wants, which is money in his pocket.

Democrats do not have a majority in the House or the Senate, but they have the power to raise their voices and put pressure on Trump's corruption.

In the case of the “pot-brown plan”, the pressure seems to work and made Qatar transform responsibility to Trump.

What do you think of Qatar's response to democratic pressure? Let's talk about it in the comments below.
