The United States is working with L3harris technologies To modify an Qatari Jumbo government to what could become a new presidential plane, according to a person familiar with the question that was not allowed to speak to the media.

The work comes after President Donald Trump earlier this year expressed his frustration with regard to delays in the work to modify Boeing. Trump concluded an agreement with Boeing in his first mandate to renovate two 747 to serve as a next Air Force One plane. But after delays, planes may not be ready before the end of his mandate.

L3harris and Boeing refused to comment. The White House did not immediately comment.

Trump told journalists in February that he was considering alternatives for delayed Boeing 747, which cost Boeing more than $ 2 billion in overtaking.

“We can buy an airplane or get an airplane, or something,” he said, according to a Reuters report at the time, when he visited Qatari 747 which was parked at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida.

The CEO of Boeing, Kelly Ortberg, said during a call for results of April 23 that “we continue to work with the customer to revise the program plan to allow first previous delivery while maintaining our concentration on security and quality”.

Ortberg said in January that the company had worked with Trump advisor Elon Musk, to deliver planes earlier.

Despite Trump’s frustration against Boeing’s delays in the delivery of the new Air Force One planes, the US Air Force has awarded Boeing a contract to build the country’s new generation fighter, an agreement of analysts of the agreement estimates about $ 20 billion or more.

“In terms of all the attributes of a fighter plane, there has never been nothing close, from speed to handling, what it can have, payable. And this has been in preparation for a long time,” Trump said in a press release on March 21. “”
