Senator Chris Van Hollen went to Salvador to progress in the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and to verify the health and the state of his Maryland constituent after being illegally expelled and sent to a Salvado and El prison.

What Van Hollen brought to the American people after meeting the vice-president of El Salvador was deeply disturbing.

Senator Van Hollen video (D-MD):

Van Hollen said to the press:

I would like to emphasize that President Trump and our Attorney General, Pam Bondi and the United States vice-president lie when they say that Gorego Garcia was accused of a crime or as part of SM 13, it is a lie.

And it’s a lie to cover what they did. So what did they do?

They therefore illegally removed Mr. Abrego Garcia from Maryland and sent him to Sect, which is a notorious prison here in Salvador.

In fact, it is a prison where they say they send the worst of the worst, right? This is where they send the terrorists.

Now, the United States courts have said that there was no evidence to support the accusation that it is part of the SP 13. So I asked the Vice-President. Whether or not Salvador has evidence that he is part of the SP 13 or committed a crime, so I asked the vice-president. If Abrego Garcia did not commit a crime and the American courts found that it was illegally taken to the United States, and that the government of El Salvador has no evidence that it was part of MS-13. Why does El Salvador continue to hold it in Cecot?

And his answer was that the Trump administration, uh, pays. El Salvador, the government of El Salvador to keep it Cecot.

And I pointed out that neither the government of El Salvador nor the Trump administration presented evidence in support of the assertion that he has committed criminal acts.

The Trump administration removes and illegally deports legal residents, and they are not sent home because the administration does not want the public to intend to talk about its illegal activities and conditions in the Salvador prison.

Senator Van Hollen has promised that this story does not disappear. Many other senators and members of the congress plan to come to Salvador.

What the Trump administration is criminal, and the Republicans in the Congress must get up and join the struggle to stop this administration.

What do you think of Senator Van Hollen’s efforts to guarantee the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia? Share your reflections in the comments below.
