Serena Williams, one of the biggest sport champions, joins the first team of the Canada WNBA as a general partner.

The tennis superstar Serena Williams continues her investment in female sports with a new participation in the Toronto Tempo of the National Basketball Association, the team announced on Monday.
The tempo, the first WNBA expansion team in Canada, will begin to play in the 2026 season and also belongs to Larry Tanenbaum, president of Kilmer Sports Ventures.
“I have always said that female sports are an incredible investment opportunity. I am delighted to associate myself with Larry and all Canada to create this new franchise and inheritance WNBA,” Williams said in a statement.
The size of Williams’ participation has not been disclosed.
As part of the role of Williams with the team, she will play an active role in the visual look of the Jersey conception team with goods collaborations.
“Serena is champion,” said Teresa Resch, president of the Basketball Club tempo. “She is the biggest athlete of all time, and her impact on this team and this country will be incredible.”
The agreement is awaiting final approval of the league.
Since his retirement from tennis in August 2022, Williams, the former tennis player No. 1 with 23 championships in the Simple of the Grand Chelem, has been busy building her off -chart.
She also owns a minority at the Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League, the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League and the Los Angeles Golf Club of TGL.
