Brazilian plane manufacturer Glowing won its first sale in the United States of its effective but sold E2 jets with an agreement of 50 plans from the Startup Airlines carrier.

Avelo started flying in April 2021 with used Boeing 737, but experienced difficulties and recently left a multitude of cities on the west coast. He also turned to the deportees of steering for American immigration and the application of customs, which sparked demonstrations, demonstrations and reactions to the reaction of certain politicians.

The low -cost airline focuses on small towns, with a large operation outside Connecticut. On Monday, without providing figures or investor, Avelo announced that it had won the “greatest investment” since the launch of the carrier and said that money would be used to grow and improve the customer experience. The New Embraer Jets, who should start to arrive in the first half of 2027, represent great growth for Avelo, which has only 22 Boeing Planes now, according to its website.

AVELO said that the order of 50 E195-E2 planes, with options for 50 others, will help it modernize its fleet. The airline bets that the configuration of the planes of planes and the quieter cabins compared to older jets will be a success with customers.

While being overshadowed by the major American planes Boeing And Rival Airbus, Embraer is known to build regional jets on which airlines count for thousands of flights per day for shorter routes or to smaller cities. He has also been firmly profitable for two years, while Boeing, who ended a link of more than $ 4 billion with Embraer because he treated several crises, had trouble.

Despite its solid sole, the more recent and more fuel economical E2 aircraft were sold by similar size aircraft such as the Airbus A220 family.

The E195-E2, the largest in this family, can accommodate 132 people in a single class cabin with a 31-inch seat step (a measurement of the distance from a seat to that behind) or 120 people in a three-classes cabin.

“The exceptional performance, size and efficiency of the plane make it the ideal choice for the future growth of our programmed service network,” said Avelo Andrew Levy CEO, former United Airlines CFO, in a press release.

Boeings used by the airline can accommodate up to 189 passengers, but too much capacity can lower prices. The budgetary transporter in difficulty Spirit Airlines, for example, lists Airbus A321neos, with 229 seats.

A challenge with smaller jets for the biggest airlines was that the “majors consider them a complication of the fleet,” said Richard Aboulafia, director general at Aerodynamic Advisory, an industry council company, because they should train pilots, acquire simulators and set up other costs to add to their queues.

“E2 has a great economy, but airlines have an irrational obsession for the range they don’t need,” said Aboulafia.

Avelo’s order is worth $ 4.4 billion at the list prices, said the airline, but it is before the usual discounts. The more sold planes or large orders are often delivered with significant price reductions.
