Louisville, Ky. – It is useful that the suspended from the automotive parts of President Donald Trump is useful, but no more changes are still necessary to help car manufacturers and develop the American automotive industry, Ford engine CEO Jim Farley said on Wednesday.
The new actions – which Trump reported in action via a decree on Tuesday – reimburses car manufacturers for certain American parts and reduce the “stack” of the prices for each other for industry.
Tuesday changes came after the Auto Industry Pleadyers for Rescue in the midst of regulatory uncertainty concerning Trump prices, including 25% on vehicles imported in the United States and 25% to come on automotive parts by May 3.
“The changes of this week on price plans will help facilitate the impact on prices for car manufacturers, suppliers and consumers, but … We must continue to work in close collaboration with the administration on a complete set of policies to support our common vision of this healthy and growing automotive industry, and we are not yet,” The company’s Kentucky truck plant.

Farley said it was “essential” for American policies to encourage exports as well as reward companies, such as Ford, for their American production.
“So many vehicles that we build here are exported worldwide. Shouldn’t we get credit for this?” Said Farley. “These are American jobs and we must continue to work on affordable parts to ensure that these supply chains promote domestic growth and affordable vehicles in our country.”
Ford, who is the largest producer of vehicles in the United States, says that it is a net exporter of parts and vehicles depending on the total value of the goods, and almost a net exporter per vehicle. A net exporter means that a company exports more than it does.
Farley presented a certain number of “What If” scenarios concerning the impact on the American automotive industry and America if the competitors corresponded to the Ford manufacturing operations. He said such actions would mean an increase of 4 million vehicles per year, 15 new manufacturing factories and more than 500,000 new manufacturing jobs in the United States
“Imagine if companies that import all vehicles in the United States have treated American manufacturing like Ford,” said Farley, whose company is still important a significant amount of Mexico, Canada and China.
The 25% prices on vehicles imported in the United States will continue, but the new measures aim to reduce the overall price level which had resulted from separate samples – such as additional 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum – “stack” each other.
Under the order, additional 25% tariffs on the automotive parts that were to start on May 3 will also take effect, but vehicles that go through final assembly in the United States will be able to qualify for partial reimbursements on these samples for two years.
