When Trump does something unpopular, he sends JD Vance to take the heat and defend it. Since Vance fooled himself into thinking that he is being elevated and this is his path to the White House, he continues to become the face of many things that the American people don’t like.
It happened again Thursday, as Vance stood before White House reporters and answered questions about an Iran deal that even members of his own party criticize.
If Vance auditions for president, his press briefing looks like a bombed audition.
The Vice President was asked: “Many colleagues with whom you served in the United States Senate and the Republican Conference have criticized this agreement in the last 24 hours. What is your message, Mr. Vice President, in response to them?
Vice President Vance responded:
So I guess I would tell anyone, any of the critics is number one, to have a little faith in the President of the United States. The idea that he is going to make a deal that will be bad for the American people is absurd.
This is the person who had the courage to fundamentally transform our relations with Iran and many other countries over the past year and a half. He believes in this agreement. He will see it through, and if the Iranians don’t comply, we still have all the tools and levers we have today. That would be the number one message, is to have a little confidence in the ability of the president, given that he’s gotten us this far, to take us to the final step.

Every deal Trump has made has been bad for America. All of Trump’s deals have been bad. The president has held office for almost a term and a half and has yet to strike a single good deal. So the message that Congress and the American people should trust Trump is not a very good one.
Things took a turn for the worse when Vance was questioned about how lopsided the deal was.
