Donald Trump lost an important case before the Supreme Court because the court’s majority ruled that a president does not have unlimited power and rejected his ability to impose reciprocal tariffs according to his whims.

Watch me discuss Trump’s loss of power in the video below:
During his press conference response Friday, Trump suggested he had other tools to impose tariffs, and said the Supreme Court gave him the power to destroy economies, which isn’t true, but the president is crazy and he’s desperate to prove he still has the power, so Trump announced a new 10% global tariff on Friday. The statutory authority used by Trump is limited and any new tariffs will expire in August.
Trump’s need to appear strong combined with his ignorance of tariffs to lead him to post on Truth Social on Saturday:
Based on a careful, detailed and comprehensive review of the ridiculous, poorly written and extraordinarily un-American tariff ruling issued yesterday, after many months of consideration, by the Supreme Court of the United States, let this statement serve to represent that I, as President of the United States of America, will, effective immediately, increase global tariffs by 10% on countries, many of which have been “ripping off” the United States for decades, without retaliation (until my arrival!), to the maximum. authorized and legally tested, level of 15%. Over the coming months, the Trump Administration will determine and issue legally authorized new tariffs that will continue our extraordinarily successful process of making America great again – GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!!!
The problem is that Trump responded to the tariff defeat by raising prices on the American people.
Trump is more interested in appearing strong than in actual policy, and as we will see below, he is wrong on both counts.
