Bill Clinton slams James Comer, refuses to be Trump’s Epstein cover-up prop

To say that Bill Clinton has been around the block several times would be an understatement. Clinton was the subject of what some consider the most baseless presidential impeachment in U.S. history. Clinton is the only president in U.S. history to become more popular due to impeachment by an opposition party.

Bill Clinton spent years of his presidency butting heads with House Republicans.

He’s a person who’s well-versed in political scandals, and the former president also understands what James Comer and the House Republicans are trying to do with their Oversight Committee investigation, which is far more interested in trying to shift the blame for the Jeffrey Epstein scandal onto Bill Clinton and away from Donald Trump.

President Comer refused to authorize the former president and First Lady Clinton will testify publicly, and in response, Clinton said through a series of messages on X:

I have requested the full release of the Epstein files. I have provided an affidavit of what I know. And again this week, I agreed to appear in person before the committee. But that’s still not enough for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.

Today, President Comer says he wants cameras, but only behind closed doors. Who benefits from this provision? It’s not Epstein’s victims who deserve justice. Not the public, who deserve the truth. This only serves partisan interests. This is not about investigating facts, this is pure politics.

I will not stand idly by while they use me as a prop in a closed-door kangaroo court by a scared Republican Party. If they want answers, let’s stop the games and do it the right way: at a public hearing, where the American people can see for themselves what this is really about.

Former President Clinton is absolutely right. The entire process of demanding testimony from the former president and first lady has centered on politics.
