Trump’s own Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, was very dubious on Meet The Press when asked if Russia wrote the peace plan.
Bessent said:
I have no information on this, Kristen. But I can tell you, I am the highest-ranking American official to visit Ukraine. I went there last February. And when I went there last February, I went there with an economic cooperation agreement between the United States and Ukraine. President Zelenskyy opposed it. The mainstream media opposed it. You know what? We did it three months later, and it is now the centerpiece of the Ukrainian economy.
