The media spent much of Joe Biden’s presidency complaining that Biden’s voice was low and he spoke in hushed tones. The press and Republicans have highlighted Biden’s speaking style as a symptom of age and decline.
The days when Donald Trump had a loud voice and strong projection seem to be over. Trump spoke in a raspy, low voice that made him sound almost 80 years old.
The president was expected to speak about business and relations between the American and Saudi business communities. The Saudis always like to present the image that they are big spenders, but the Saudi regime has made domestic budget cuts while moving money to projects to create the illusion of unlimited wealth. In reality, the Saudis are looking for external investors to invest in Saudi Arabia.
So, in a way, a weak, unpopular person trying to project an illusion of power, speaking to a murderous regime that projects the illusion of unlimited wealth, fits the bill perfectly.
The problem is that Trump’s physical appearance foils his projections of strength. Trump appears more and more fragile and weak.
Even more dangerous, it is Trump’s mind that issues red alerts every time he speaks.
Trump claimed that awakening was virtually illegal in the United States: “We’re not woke anymore in this country. It’s practically illegal. But you’ll have some awakenings and we don’t want to do that. We want to see AI happen.”
