Donald Trump acts as if nothing happened and ignores the government shutdown. The Republican reaction seems to consist of Mike Johnson doing daily press briefings where he finds new and different causes to blame for the shutdown that are definitely not Republicans.
When the Senate is in session, Majority Leader John Thune holds briefings, but Trump has held no public events or rallies to try to make the Republican point of view to the American people.
