The president of the FCC, Brendan Carr, apparently did not expect the fallout and the return of return that come his ABC pressure to remove Jimmy Kimmel After making a comment on the shooter and the political affiliation of Charlie Kirk.
Thursday morning, Carr told a different version of the story with some missing details.
Car posted on X:
The broadcast television channels have always been required by their licenses to operate in the public interest, which includes the needs of their local communities. And the broadcasters have long kept the right not to disseminate national programs which, according to them, are incompatible with the public interest, including the values of their local communities. I am happy to see that many broadcasters respond to their viewers as planned.
What Carr has posted is not what happened.
Here is the video of Carr threatening ABC on a podcast:
The complete video of the podcast is published so that there can be no complaints on the release of its context.
Car said: “[This] Seems to be an action by Jimmy Kimmel to play in the story that it was sort of a maga or republican person. What people do not understand is that the broadcasters … have a license granted by us to the FCC, and this is accompanied by an obligation to operate in the public interest. When we see things like this, look, we can do it the simplest way or the road to the hard. These companies can find ways to change driving, on Kimmel, or there will be additional work for the FCC to come. »»
