The Democrats of the Chamber will not accept another cave of the Chief of the Minority of the Senate Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on the financing of the government. The Democrats clearly indicated that they wanted the Obamacare and Medicaid cuts to be repealed.
Democrats also want Schumer to engage in a government closure if the Republicans do not meet their requests.
John Bresnahan De Punchbowl News published on X:
The Democrats of the Chamber had an angry Caucus MTG this morning for government funding and a possible closure. Basic DEMS want party leaders – in particular Schumer – will be ready to close the government in order to obtain what they want on Obamacare & Medicaid.
A number of democrats got up to complain at the meeting, including Brad Schneider, Kim Schrier, Jared Moskowitz, Pingree Chellie and more.
Most of the anger targeted the Democrats of Chuck Schumer and the Senate.
If a group of Democrats from the Senate Caves, as Schumer did in March, it will not be because they acted for the good of the country, or any other nonsense that they could say publicly.
A Schumer cave would be because he does not want to do anything who, according to him, could compromise the democratic chances of taking over the Senate next year.
Democrats do not have a great chance to win back the Senate next year. They have a chance, but the card is still not in their favor, and resuming the majority would require winning open seats in North Carolina and Iowa, while beating the holders in places like Maine and Texas.
It is possible, but everything should go well for the Democrats to take over the Senate.
The Obamacare cuts will skyrocket the insurance premiums next year. People cannot wait for the mid-term elections.
The Democrats of the Chamber have the right to 100% require Schumer insurance that he will close the government unless the sections of Obamacare and Medicaid are reversed.
Democrats must take a stand to prevent a health care crisis.
Nothing less will be a betrayal of the American people.
