On Fox News, vice-president JD Vance had a simple reason why the prices of the accommodation are so expensive. Vance did not blame the demand of consumers beyond supply, nor the fact that America has not built enough houses, nor the replicas of the pandemic which persist in certain parts of the economy.
JD VANCE, who apparently learns from Donald Trump’s knee, blamed interest rates and immigrants.
Vance said:
You have to understand the deep causes here. Why has housing become so unaffordable for American citizens? Two big problems. Number one, I have already talked about too high interest rates. Number two, you have had too many people in there. Countries that compete against American citizens for rare houses, and this is the problem of illegal immigration.
Why has the accommodation exceeded in the past six months? I really believe that the main engine is that you have had a negative net migration in the United States for the first time in 60 years in this country, you cannot flood the United States of America. With 20, 30, 40 million people who do not have the legal right to be here, make them compete with young American families for houses and do not expect the price soaring.
It is as simple as supply and demand. You increase the request, you will increase. The price. And, and the last thing I mean here is that we are working on the problems right now in the White House every day. Because we also want to facilitate the construction of houses, because in the same way as leaving illegal foreigners from this country means fewer people in competition against young American families.
