
Ford Sales increased by 14.2% in the second quarter during the annual period, approximately 10 times the estimated increase in the industry by 1.4%, the automaker said on Tuesday.
Sales of new vehicles for the second quarter totaled 612,095, carried out partly by gains in its trucks in the F series and “electrified” vehicles, which includes hybrids and electric vehicles.
Trucks in the F series have seen their best second quarter since 2019, climbing 11.5% to 222,459. New collection sales totaled 288,564 for the quarter, said Ford.
Sales of Ford electrified vehicles totaled 82,886 in the second quarter, up 6.6%compared to 2024. But among these “electrified” vehicles, pure electric vehicles experienced a drop of 31.4%, while hybrids increased by 23.5%.
For the first half, Ford sold a record of 156,509 electric and hybrid vehicles, up 14.7% compared to the same era last year.
The forecasters of the Automobile Industry Cox Automotive and Edmunds have provided that sales of new vehicles would increase 1.7% and 2% respectively for the second quarter from the annual period. They cited a solid market in April and early May, such as increasing increases, while June sales were to be softer.
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump implemented 25% of prices on imported vehicles and many automotive parts imported in the United States, the direct debits have initially advanced the demand of prices buyers, but analysts expect the increase in the demand for fade if the higher prices settle.
Rival General Motors said an increase in sales of 7.3% for the second quarter and an increase of almost 12% for the first half of 2025. The automaker has credited its sales growth in its trucks, crosses, electric vehicles and gains on the luxury market led by Cadillac.
South Korean manufacturer Kia and Hyundai The two said on Tuesday their best sales results in the first half, up 8% and 10% compared to a year ago, respectively.
