Former LPGA star Michelle Wie West is investing in female sports

The former LPGA golf star, Michelle Wie West, plays a more important role in the growth of female sports – out of course.

On Tuesday, Wie West announced that she had signed as a last athlete investor in ToGethxr, the company behind the popular slogan “everyone looks at female sports”. Togethxr aims to increase investments and media coverage of female sports, among other objectives.

Wie West, the 35 -year -old Stanford graduate was the youngest player to qualify for an LPGA event at the age of 12. Since her playing career ended in 2023, she turned her attention to her other passions, such as investing in female sports.

“I’m in the perfect space at the moment,” Wie West in CNBC told her life after golf. “I feel like I am in a place where I can make a difference. I have time and space to do it.”

The investment in Togethxr is not the only recent agreement that Wie West has concluded.

Wie West has signed a multi -year agreement as an ambassador of the Mizuho brand and tournament host for the Mizuho Americas Open earlier this week. The tournament will take place at the National Golf Club Liberty in New Jersey from Thursday. Mizuho’s new sponsorship agreement will increase the stock market for the 2026 tournament to 3.25 million dollars, one of the largest outside the main championships.

“Golf is so important and I am very passionate about bringing more women into the game because golf is an incredible way to open doors in the commercial space,” she said.

Wie West also spoke to CNBC of the future of golf, how sport can be intimidating to learn and how it works with a partially simulated professional golf league TGL one day put women in the fold.
