The Democrats of the Senate had a very good Monday. First of all, the best republican recruit to appear in the Senate, Governor Brian Kemp in Georgia, announced that he would not present himself, then the Democrats of the Senate announced that they would present legislation to exempt all small businesses from Trump prices.

Senate Democrat, Chuck Schumer, announced during a press event:
These people do not have this access to, to the White House, and Trump does not even seem to care. Thus, today, the Democrats of the Senate show America the faces, companies and communities affected by the devastating trade war of Trump. Today, Senator Markey will announce legislation that I am proud of co-sponsor to exempt small businesses from the destructive tariffs of the president. The protection of small businesses should not be a partisan problem. It is a national priority. And let’s not forget that the 35 million small companies in America employ 59 million people.
This represents about half of the private sector jobs in the country in companies like those represented here. Small businesses play an important role. They are even more necessary in rural communities, and they represent approximately 54% of rural workers. They are the backbone of our economy. However, at the moment, they are looking back to reach both ends, not to invoice their customers more, so as not to dismiss employees.
This is the dilemma they are all confronted with. 72% of small businesses say that irregular tariff policies create a cervical boost effect, disturbing planning and long -term decisions. In this way, small businesses and large companies are alike. They cannot plan unless they have a certainty. They cannot place this order which will come in three months if they only think anyone, the price will go up.
81% of small businesses say that thanks to President Trump’s pricing tax, they would be forced to increase prices for consumers, and many have indicated that they would dismiss employees due to the cost increase.

If the Republicans vote not on the legislation to exempt small businesses from Trump prices, as they will almost certainly do, advertisements write practically themselves. Imagine that owners of small businesses across the country with advertisements saying that their senator put them bankrupt and cost people in their community their work because they chose Donald Trump about small businesses.
It is a trap. If the Republicans rank on the side of Trump, they will pay in 2026. If they challenge Trump, they will face the anger of the White House.
Of course, they are supposed to represent the people of their states, and Trump’s feelings should have no impact on their votes. The right thing to do is do what is best for the people they represent.
However, it’s been a long time since the Republicans in Congress have done the right thing. If this bill were to adopt the Senate, the Republicans of the Chamber would bury it, then they would pay the political price.
These types of laws are called message bills, because even if it would be good to adopt them, it is just as important to send a message to voters and create a clear contrast between the two parties.
Democrats clearly show it. They are on the side of small businesses and oppose Trump prices. Republicans are on the side of Trump and increase taxes on small businesses.
Democrats face a difficult card as they try to take over the Senate next year, but the only thing they can do right now is to hurt for the Republicans when they support Trump.
