Senator Bernie Sanders has become one of the country’s most eminent Trump reviews. The Senate is organizing a voting-a-rama this weekend to try to adopt tax reductions for the rich budget, so the tour of the combat oligarchy resumes Next weekend with a stop in Los Angeles, California.
In the meantime, the independent senator of Vermont has things to say about the Trump trade war.
Senator Sanders said in a press release:
As a person who helped direct the effort against the disastrous of unhindered free trade with China, Mexico and other low-wage countries, I understand that we need trade policies that benefit American workers, not only to the CEOs of large societies. And this includes targeted prices that can be a powerful tool to prevent companies from outsourcing American jobs and factories abroad. Conclusion: We need a rational, well thought out and fair trade policy. Trump’s prices are not the way to do so. We do not need a coverage and arbitrary sales tax on imported products that will increase the prices of the products that the American people desperately need. We should do our best to reduce prices, not make them incredibly higher.
In addition, and above all, what Trump does is illegal and another step towards authoritarianism. By pushing his prices, he usurgling the power of the congress and repealing the existing agreements under the “emergency” provisions – when there is no real emergency. In other words, he incorporates more and more power in his own hands. It is unacceptable.
